Do I need an Amazon Associates account? +
Yes. OAmazon authenticates against your existing Amazon Product Advertising API (PA-API 5.0) credentials. You sign up for Associates at affiliate-program.amazon.com, request PA-API access, paste the access key, secret key, and partner tag into OAmazon settings, and the plugin starts caching products. We do not need access to your Amazon account itself.
How does geo-routing actually work? +
Every click goes through a tracker URL that reads the visitor's CF-IPCountry header (set by Cloudflare on every request). We map the country to one of the 17 Amazon locales we support and redirect to the matching ASIN on the right Amazon storefront with your locale-specific affiliate tag. If Cloudflare is not in front of the site, we fall back to an IP-to-country lookup via ip-api.com (24h transient cache, no API key needed). Geo-routing is also a per-link toggle if you want to pin specific links to one storefront.
Is the A/B test math real? +
Yes. The engine runs a chi-square test on a 2x2 contingency table (clicks vs no-click for each variant) and the OAM_ABTest::compute_significance method recomputes after every recorded click and on every analytics page load. Once significance crosses the 95% threshold (chi² ≥ 3.841 for 1 degree of freedom), the test status flips to resolved and the winner is recorded on the row. The chi² value and significance are visible on the test detail page.
What about Amazon ToS compliance? +
OAmazon ships an automated FTC disclosure injector and an Amazon ToS scanner. The disclosure hooks the_content and inserts the legal notice once above the first affiliate link in any post that contains [oam_*] shortcodes or amazon.* URLs. The ToS scanner runs in the admin (and via wp oamazon health) and flags four classes of issues: stale prices (cached_at older than 24h), missing review counts when a star rating is shown, forbidden price language ('cheapest', 'lowest price', 'best price', 'guaranteed lowest'), and posts with affiliate displays but no detected disclosure.
How does this differ from AAWP, EasyAzon, and Amazon Auto Links? +
